At least a dozen show homes from nine different builders are on display at Highland
Pointe during the Parade of Homes, and they are worth the trip. Along with
duplexes and large family homes with front-facing attached garages on Goodman
Drive, there's a nice selection of laned lots, which tend to result in attractive, people-
friendly streetscapes. Discovery Homes is showing two models with second-floor
balconies overlooking the street, and a Signature Homes show home is breaking
the great-room mold. It has distinct
dining and living rooms, with a big
kitchen in the rear, overlooking
the backyard. The mudroom and
powder room are just inside the
back-door, and there's also a large
foyer upfront, just off that living
room.
KDR Homes has added a rear deck
and a double detached garage to its
laned home and, like several other
builders, KDR also plans to build a
home with an attached garage just
up the street.
While Highland Pointe is just getting
off the ground on the east side of
McPhillips Street between Fernbank
Avenue and Ferrier Street, Aurora
at North Point has become well-
established south of Murray Avenue.
With a mix of single-family
and multi-family homes, the
development from Edmonton-
based real-estate company Tacada
Communities — which owns the
Daytona Homes and Carriage
Signature Homes brands — extends
from McPhillips Street all the way
to Pegasus Street, within view of
Ferrier.
