We are so happy to be back after a long three-year hiatus for the parade. The joy and magic this event brings to our city has been missed and we know you are as eager as we are to see it bring downtown to life and launch the holiday sea- son once again. There are a few new things to watch for this year including a new route direction and start time (see details on pages four and five). Many things are staying the same as you remember. The block parties will start an hour before the parade and feature returning favourites like Sport Manitoba with their Fit Kids Healthy Kids program, Manitoba Advocate and Manitoba Hydro. We have some great family activities available to be printed from our website; word searches, colouring pages and scavenger hunts await. We want to remind you to carpool or bus downtown, if possible, as street closures impact traffic flow. Make sure to leave early and dress for the weather to ensure you don't miss a minute of the fun. And of course, as always, the star of the show will be the eagerly awaited punctuation mark at the end of the procession. Santa Claus will be on his bright and shiny sleigh, waving at all the kids, young and old. We look forward to seeing you downtown again on Saturday, November 19th!
