Sport Manitoba has been developing Manitoba's athletes since 1996 and we want to recognize the role they've played in the careers of the many athletes on Team Manitoba who excelled at the 2022 Canada Summer Games. Through their many programs, facility services and resources, Sport Manitoba is instrumental in developing athletes, coaches, amateur sport in our province. Their contributions cannot be overstated; their dedication to sports in our province has Among the many incredible athletes who participated in the 2022 Summer Games, two local athletes have been chosen to represent Sport Manitoba as 2022 Grand Marshals. Madi Lawrence and Teagen Purvis will be leading our parade procession this year and representing the best of amateur sport in our province. Lawrence was the Closing Ceremonies Flag Bearer for Team Manitoba at the 2022 Canada Summer Games where she won gold in heptathlon and silver in the long jump and high jump. Purvis is Team Manitoba's winningest athlete at the 2022 Canada Summer Games, winning gold in the 100m freestyle, 100m backstroke, 50m freestyle and 50m backstroke, along with silver in the 50m breaststroke. We also want to invite you to the Fit Kids Healthy Kids Block Party, being held from 2:00pm to 3:00pm on Portage Avenue between Fort Street and Gary Street. This partnership between Sport Manitoba and Doctors Manitoba teaches children and their adult leaders the and life. Vote for your favorite Parade Entry!
