"There are principles of biophilic design, which is basically bringing natural environ- ment into the home. It's important for home wellness and a healthy-home concept, and those trends are not going anywhere." Biophilic design focuses on creating a calm- ing space with a visual connection to nature. "It's something as simple as bringing house plants into the hall or natural elements like wood and stone. They add warmth to interiors. Coming out of the pandemic, it's important that people have strong associations with the productivity of nature, so neutral colour palettes with soft, earth tones, a little bit warm — warm beige, warm greys, warm browns, as well as blues and greens," Wadden says.
