OMA BECKER'S FIELD SALAD:
Several leaves of butter lettuce (or lettuce of choice).
Sliced vegetables that are ready for harvest from your
garden (or harvested from your fridge).
DRESSING:
3 tbsp heavy cream
1 tsp of minced white onion
1/2 tsp white vinegar
1/4 tsp sugar
salt and pepper to taste
DIRECTIONS
In a high-sided bowl, add cream, vinegar and sugar.
Hand whisk until smooth, add salt and pepper to taste.
Add onions and stir, then set aside.
Wash and dry vegetables and lettuce leaves. Place
in bowl. Add dressing just before serving to prevent
leaves from wilting.
