Cabinets are No. 1, she says. And slat walls with hooks are fabulous for keeping rakes and shovels at bay, as well as hand tools and fishing rods. 'One client wanted hockey lockers, so we did five of them in his garage for all of his hockey gear.' Cubbies and small drawers for cleaning and car products are also handy, as are overhead racks that secure bikes in place while conserving space. And then there are the sporting goods. "In another garage we did a gardening centre with a potting shed. She has a bench where she can do her plants."
