Location Scouts Cont'd from page 131 While Countryside Crossing is close to the city, it will retain a countrified feel, with lush park grounds, pedestrian trails and natural creeks running through it. And the lots will be country-sized, with standard lots measuring in at a generous 70 feet by 146 feet. "Those dimensions are going to make for lots of space between homes," Mark Penner says. 'We're going to be able to offer customers true custom homes that are unique, with all the attention to detail that we'll be able to build in to them.' "There will be eight-foot side yards so there's plenty of separation between homes, and there will also be lots of greenspace with the park grounds and trail system. Residents will be able to walk out their back door and go for a walk on the trails next to the creek. It will be a community that will inspire people to be active." Homes will be built for luxury, with bungalows starting at 1,600 square feet and two-storey designs starting at 2,100 square feet. While all plans must be approved by the developer, architectural guidelines won't be so stringent as to stifle builders' creativity, and Warkentin Homes owner Melanie Snow says that's good news for buyers. "We're going to be able to offer customers true custom homes that are unique, with all the attention to detail that we'll be able to build in to them. The wide lots will make it easier to see more of the homes' front elevations. That will inspire us to come up with new and interesting looks for each home." Wayne Penner says a majority of the homes will be built on walk-out lots to give homeowners easy access to backyards and the creek system. 132 Parade of Homes Fall 2013
