The Hall of Fame was launched last year. Izzy Asper, James A. Richardson and Muriel Richardson, Samuel Bronfman, Albert Cohen and Sir Clifford Sifton were the fi rst inductees. Angus says innovation might not be a word that people typically associate with charities, but Graffi ti Art sets a good example. "I love when we can highlight organizations like that and the innovation that they bring because it's not often as obvious or noticeable, but it's certainly impactful," Angus says. Kevin Greenwood, vice-president of marketing at Manitoba Harvest Hemp Foods, accepted his company's award at the gala. "For us it was just validation of 15 years since we petitioned the Canadian government to allow hemp to be grown as an agricultural crop to where we are today as the world's largest hemp food company," Greenwood says. In the past, the hemp food manufacturing company has applied for the Spirit of Winnipeg Awards in the small businesses category, but this year staff applied as a medium business because the company is fl ourishing. "For me it was just a recognition of the team in general and what we're able to accomplish and while the businesses is still growing at a very, very, very strong rate," Greenwood says. "Every day is about innovation. It's about where are we today and where do we need to be tomorrow." Do you have what it takes to be a 2015 Spirit of Winnipeg Award recipient?
