Thursday, October 16, 2014 Haunted Hotel !e Marlborough Hotel has experienced paranormal activities for many years. Many guests, employees and visitors have encoun- tered strange noises and ghostly $gures moving around. Some believe the hauntings are the re- sult of the murder of Grace Edith Cook, a young waitress strangled by a suitor named Albert Victor Westgate in one of the rooms. On Friday, November 14 , 2014, from 7:00-11:00 pm, !e Marlborough Hotel will be hosting a late night ghost tour and séance in conjunction with Paracon, a conference dedicated to paranormal research. It will feature Maureen Flynn, author of Buckle My Shoe, a novel about ghostly events set in !e Marlborough. All about Services !e Marlborough Hotel is an independently owned full service hotel and heritage landmark in the very heart of Winnipeg. !e facility is walking distance from MTS Centre, Portage Place Shopping Centre along with the city's Financial and Exchange districts. Banquet, meeting and conference space from ten to 700 !e hotel possesses 40,000 square feet of banquet and meeting facilities in 16 di%erent rooms, most which get natural light from numerous windows. Everything from a small meeting of ten people to grand events for 700 people is accommodated by the hotel's friendly and helpful sta%. Chef Gil Ferreira guides the culinary e%orts of the banquet rooms, o%ering a diversi$ed menu for any function. Restaurant and Lounge Joanna's Restaurant serves a full menu for break- fast, lunch and dinner amidst the original 1914 ar- chitecture and soaring 24 foot ceilings. It features arched stained glass windows, Ti%any wrought- iron chandeliers and a charming wall clock. !e Regal Beagle Pub is an English-style lounge with pool tables, live entertainment and karaoke. Downtown's only Pool and Waterslide !e kid-friendly Marlborough o%ers a 600 square foot pool and 100 foot long waterslide, as well as a hot tub. Garrick Conference & Entertainment Centre Located in the former Garrick Cinemas and connected to !e Marlborough Hotel by sky- walk, the centre o%ers three separate theatres for special events. !ere will be many special guests and surprises throughout the night. MC is Winnipeg icon Laurie Mustard. Cocktail hour entertainment provided by Vocal Point, Evening entertainment provided by !e Little City All Star Band. Tickets are on sale for $50.00 each, and corporate tables are available for $375.00. Price is all inclusive. Proceeds will be going to a local Winnipeg Charity.
