The 2,200-square-foot home pro- vides ample room for their 14-year- old son, Brayden, to maintain his own sense of space. "We've left the basement unfin- ished for the moment because he has a little area down there where he shoots the puck," grant says. "upstairs, the master bedroom is separate from the other two rooms, so Brayden has his own private hallway. he feels like he has a little more privacy on his own there." This is the second new home for the clark family, who previously built from scratch in niverville. They had a larger lot in niverville, but they've found a nice compro- mise with their yard in river Park South. "We back on towards the Perim- eter, so there's no one behind us. We're just on the verge of a cor- ner high lot, so we have a nice view of the farmers' fields behind us without anyone intruding in," grant says. Speaking from experience, the clarks prefer the peace of mind that a new home offers. "We used to live in river heights in an 85-year-old home," grant says. "We still had the original pot-belly boiler, which had asbes- tos wrapped around it. at any point, you knew that it was going to go. and with shingles, there's always going to be lots of main- tenance and upkeep." When they were in the market for a new house, they asked them- selves whether they wanted to fix up an old home or start fresh with something new. "We decided to buy new, and it was smooth sailing the whole way through from start to finish. randall was always so good at accommodating us and making any changes that we needed to make. If there ever was an issue, we called and they always had someone here right away. We had a very good experience with them, that's for sure," grant says. "They even did the little things. The day we moved in, there was a huge welcome basket. Then a few weeks later, we got a marble address sign put up. They go out of their way to make you feel welcomed into the community and into your house, which we plan on staying with for quite some time." as an added bonus, they feel that they found the perfect neigh- bourhood in river Park South. "We love our neighbours," Susannah says. "We live on a young street with young families." In addition, schools and community clubs are eas- ily accessible, grant adds. "If we need to get to another part of the city, we're right at the Perimeter," he says. "The bus route is also good. It's just a couple streets away if we need to take transit." for home buyers like the clarks, ran- dall homes strives to make the expe- rience as easy as possible, says vice- president Jason Ja- quet. "With the house that grant and Susannah picked out, they no- ticed a lot of value and it fit their price point. The model that they're living in is called The Eldridge. It's been a very popular home for us. It's a great entertaining home but a good family home as well," Jaquet says. "at the back of their home, we designed it to look like the front. It's got a lot of trim details and different architectural touches. In our homes, we try to enhance rear elevations and give our cus- tomers the opportunity to choose that." To create their dream home, new home buyers have the option to add other personal touches as well. "When you buy a home from randall, the nice thing is that you actually get to spend time in our design studio, which is in our office," Jaquet says. "you get to choose all your selections in one building. you don't have to drive around all over the place. We have a designer on staff to go through your choices and put it together for you." as for the neighbourhood, river Park South has become a sought- after area that is filling up fast. "you're close to everything. It's a very good community," Jaquet says. "But river Park South is just about at its end. There are only so many lots left, and once it's done, it's done." randall homes will showcase The Eldridge model with a few new tweaks for 2015 in a Spring Parade of homes entry located at 23 Wainwright cres. Show homes are open year-round, but extend- ed hours during the Parade offer more opportunities to explore the latest home trends. >> grant and susannah clark, with son brayden and model family dog izzy.
