14 HOME GAME PLAYBOOK FRIDAY, JULY 10, 2015 WINNIPEG FREE PRESS CHEER & DANCE TEAM PROFILE POSITION: Dancer HOMETOWN: Winnipeg POST-SECONDARY STUDIES: University of Manitoba KEANNA'S Q&A WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO TRY OUT FOR THE CHEER TEAM? My positive experience on the team last year inspired me to join the team this season. From working hard at late-night practices to performing on game day alongside my very talented teammates I was proud to be on the cheer team. WHAT'S YOUR DANCING/ CHEERLEADING BACKGROUND? I started dancing when I was three and dancing competitively at age 10. Having trained in ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary and hip hop, pretty much half my life has been spent in a dance studio. WHAT OTHER ATHLETIC PURSUITS DO YOU ENJOY? Either working out on my own or heading to Impact Fitness for one of their crazy sweat-filled workouts. WHAT COMMUNITY EVENT DO YOU MOST LOOK FORWARD TO EACH YEAR? Going to Folklorama with my family every year and getting to learn about the different cultures! WHAT CHEER TEAM EXPERIENCE ARE YOU MOST EXCITED ABOUT THIS SEASON? I am very excited for the Junior Cheer clinic, when all the future Blue Bomber cheerleaders and dancers get a chance to perform on the field! IS THERE ONE SPECIAL PLACE YOU'D SUGGEST GREY CUP FANS VISIT WHILE THEY'RE IN WINNIPEG? I'd say definitely try and check out the human rights museum. From the architecture to all the historical artifacts inside you're sure to have a great learning experience. WHAT IS ONE THING PEOPLE WOULD BE SURPRISED TO KNOW ABOUT YOU? One thing that is surprising is that I hated dancing until I was seven. My parents enrolled me when I was three and I quit after every class and didn't attend my year-end recital. WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN FIVE YEARS? Hopefully being able to travel to different places and experience different cultures!
