Part of Trail 2000, close to Pembina Valley, St. Lupicin area. Bat capital of Manitoba. Altamont has the oldest natural curling ice arena in Canada. Altona Altona is the Sunflower Capital of Canada, twinned with Emerald, Australia. The Manitoba Sunflower Festival is celebrated the last weekend in July. The Altona Park has an outdoor stage, sporting facilities, playground, campground and an aquatic centre. THÉRÈSE CHAPEL Travellers are welcome to visit the historic Ste. Thérèse Chapel, a picturesque representation of Gothic and Romanesque architecture built in 1927 by local residents. Donations accepted. location: ½ mi south of junction of PR 244 and 245 Carman An oasis on the prairies, the Boyne River flows through this beautifully treed community. Kings Park, located in the centre of town, offers an aquatic centre with two water slides, tennis courts, picnic area and campground. A 6 km pathway features four river bridges and a tall grass prairie.
