92 ANTLER RIVER HISTORICAL SOCIETY MUSEUM The Antler River Historical Society Museum has artifacts from archaeological digs, a wedding dress, 1927 Aboriginal costume, a transportation diorama, military history, rural school room, pioneer home circa 1900, wildlife exhibit, over 200 mounted birds and a display of miniature scale model horses and wagons. Partly wheelchair and walker accessible. Tours July 15 to August 15 by reservation. location: west of Miniota on Hwy. 467 p: 204-567-3627 MINIOTA MUNICIPAL MUSEUM The Miniota Municipal Museum includes a pioneer home, Native artifacts and fossils. Open July and August daily and by appointment; June and September by appointment. Admission charged. p: 204-567-3690, 204-567-3505, 204-567-3643 Minnedosa Located in Manitoba's valley paradise, Minnedosa is a flourishing tourist centre with ample shopping, restaurants, beach, camping, scenic historic walking and nature trails and challenging golf course. MINNEDOSA DISTRICT MUSEUM Enter Minnedosa District Museum from 3rd Avenue NE. See a landmark church, rural school, 1910 period home, working windmill, trout pond, working water wheel, trappers' cabin, blacksmith shop, 1929 log stable. Nearby is a suspension bridge, bison compound and a fish ladder. The museum is housed in the former Hydro Electric Station. Open July long weekend to September long weekend daily, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. Admission charged. location: 100 Heritage Park Cres. p: 204-867-3542 Neepawa Neepawa is a Cree word meaning "abundance or plenty". The town is also known as the "World Lily Capital". The Neepawa & Area Lily Festival is celebrated the third full weekend in July. p: 204-476-8811 toll free: 1-866-893-0381 e: info@lilyfestival.com w: www.lilyfestival.com BEAUTIFUL PLAINS COUNTY COURT BUILDING (PHS) Beautiful Plains County Court Building, the second oldest public building in Manitoba, is commemorated by a Historic Sites and Monuments of Canada commemorative plaque. The County Court building was erected in 1884 to house the court and gaol and town and municipal offices. KNOX PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH (PHS) Manitoba's dramatic growth in the 1880s and 1890s brought equally dramatic changes to church architecture. Knox Presbyterian Church is an excellent example of Romanesque Revival church architecture with its rusticated stone, round-arched windows and pyramidal bell tower. location: 396 First Ave. LAURENCE HOME (PHS) MARGARET Margaret Laurence Home is a living memorial to Margaret Laurence. A wide variety of her memorabilia includes doctoral robes and hoods, typewriter, honourary degrees and some of the original furniture. Gift shop on site.
