Families First Foundation The Families First Foundation is a not-for-profit organization that raises funds for and provides supports to families of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG). This includes educating the public on MMIWG, honoring loved ones, searches and assistance for families when a loved one has passed away. Please Join us! On June 25, 2016, the Families First Foundation will have its 2nd annual Blanket Dance. Starting at 11:00 a.m. from the University of Winnipeg, we will walk to The Forks where food and refreshments will be sold at the AMC Pavilion. All proceeds go towards supporting families assisted through the foundation. First Nations Family Advocate Office The First Nations Family Advocate Office provides support and advocacy to Indigenous families involved with the Child and Family Services system. We challenge existing systems using Indigenous knowledge, laws, traditions and belief systems to create positive change for our children and families, and work to bring more children currently in the system back to their home communities where they belong. EAGLE Urban Transition Centre The EUTC serves as a culturally relevant and non-discriminatory gateway for Aboriginal people transitioning into an urban centre. The EUTC office focuses on providing a single window from which clients receive support, advocacy and access to needed programs in their efforts to achieve independent living. ASSEMBLY OF MANITOBA CHIEFS CELEBRATES NATIONAL ABORIGINAL DAY MAP Road to Niagara This is AMC's latest decolonization effort. We call for individuals to join us as we journey from Winnipeg, MB, to Niagara Falls, ON. In Niagara, the AMC's initiative to move towards a future without the colonial Indian Act will be presented to the Assembly of First Nations Chiefs-in-Assembly. The AMC is pleased to celebrate our people and communities with APTN and others on National Aboriginal Day at The Forks. Bring your family and join us to enjoy a day of activities at the AMC Pavilion. e Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs brings greetings on National Aboriginal Day!
