4 TENX GROWTH SUMMIT 2017 T oday's Executive Network (TEN) takes a novel approach to networking — building personal relationships through shared experiences that help to foster productive business connections. So it's only natural that TEN is applying a unique new concept to the business conference experience with its TENx Growth Summit on April 11. TEN president Glen Buhler says the event could be described as an "un-conference." Its purpose is to give busy entrepreneurs and business leaders practical, hands-on tools to grow their business, and connect them with experts through the summit's Growth Expo. Buhler says most conferences follow a formulaic blueprint, packing the day with networking, breakout sessions and a series of speakers whose key messages are quickly forgotten. The TENx Growth Summit is turning the formula on its head, providing attendees with workbooks and concrete action plans they can take back to their businesses and implement right away. Along with presenting a webcast session with a high-profile speaker, the summit provides direct access to a range of business experts through targeted Growth Expo sessions. Attendees will be able to meet and speak with experts in a variety of areas, from social media and technology to human resources, growing sales and raising capital. "It's a concept where you're no longer just sitting there consuming the content, but you're actually participating in it," Buhler says. "The object is not just to create a trade show where everybody's trying to sell you something. If you're trying to do something in your business what are you going to find more value in? Sitting through an hour-long presentation to hear that one little nugget that you wanted to hear, or getting 15 minutes with somebody who's an expert in that business and asking them questions and getting the answers." In October 2015, entrepreneur and venture Making Smart Connections TENx GROWTH SUMMIT 2017 FOCUSES ON RESULTS Entrepreneur and venture capitalist Bruce Croxon (below), formerly of CBC-TV's Dragons' Den, was the keynote speaker at TEN's first business summit. On April 11, "Business Growth Guru" Cameron Herold will appear via webcast for the group's second summit.
