SPRING 2017 HOME + GARDEN 3 I n the spring, a Winnipegger's thoughts turn to home improvements. When new buds start peeking through after a long winter, it's time to refresh our nests, indoors and outdoors. Homeowners will find all the inspiration and expert advice they need at the Winnipeg Home + Garden Show, on April 6-9 at RBC Convention Centre Winnipeg. With 270 exhibitors, vendors and celebrity speakers, the show covers every aspect of home improvement, from lawn and garden care to roofing, flooring, windows, garages and more. Some of your favourite TV personalities answer your renovation and decor questions and share pro tips on the Urban Barn Main Stage. Plan to catch presentations from HGTV reno and design duo Bryan and Sarah Baeumler (House of Bryan, Bryan Inc.), eco-friendly landscape designer Carson Arthur (Green Force, Room to Grow) and interior designer Tiffany Pratt (Home to Win). Frequent Cityline guest DIY and lifestyle expert Leigh-Ann Allaire Perrault shares frugal decorating tips and Home Trends Magazine's Marc and Mandy Atiyolil, of the Marc & Mandy Show, talk about the hottest trends of the year. Manitoba design expert Lisa Clark explains how you can avoid frequent reno mistakes and you'll hear from many more experts in interior design, landscaping and gardening. Throughout the show, you can drop by the Ask a Renovator booth to get advice from Manitoba Home Builders' Association renovators, and get a free consultation at The Design Studio. Take in workshops and cruise the artisanal craft showcase at the Scattered Seeds Pop-Up Market, then drop by the FLOFORM Lounge to take a break and absorb information you've gathered at the show. Special features include the Ultimate Upcycle Challenge: Eat Your Veggies, in support of the Habitat for Humanity ReStore. Five of Winnipeg's top tastemakers are creating unique urban garden planters and living walls from upcycled materials found at the ReStore. Several exhibitors offer chances to win goods and services, and you can enter a sweepstakes contest for a chance to win prizes including a $500 Home Depot gift card. ❙ PUBLISHER Bob Cox MANAGER OF NICHE PRODUCTS Barb Borden Barb.Borden@freepress.mb.ca EDITOR Pat St. Germain pstgermain@mail.com PHOTOGRAPHY Darcy Finley Provided by the featured companies WRITERS Todd Lewys Jennifer McFee Margaret Anne Fehr Kristin Marand DESIGN Jane Chartrand View online at winnipegfreepress.com/publications who's who special edition HOME + GARDEN Spring is in the Air AT THE WINNIPEG HOME + GARDEN SHOW THE WINNIPEG HOME + GARDEN SHOW Show hours are 12 p.m. - 9 - p.m Thursday, April 6 and Friday, April 7; 10 a.m. - 9 p.m. Saturday, April 8 and 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Sunday, April 9.
