"Now there's some fantastic laminates and there's some fantastic
arborites, and there's lots of people looking back at design and using
those old materials and making them fit in with the new technology."
Changing demographics have given rise to features such as
spice kitchens, and both Randall Homes and Maric Homes are
incorporating more accommodations for young adults, such as
separate entrances to lower levels in their parents' homes.
But they're wary of hewing too closely to ever-
evolving trends.
"We try to do very clean and modern and subtle,
but not anything too weird," says Peri Maric.
"We go for style, not for fashion. If you stick with
style it can be timeless."
