According to Schluter Systems — the com- pany The Floor Show deals with almost exclu- sively for in-floor heating systems — traditional heating methods, such as forced-air heating, heat the air that rises and escapes through cracks and openings, causing energy waste.

The common belief is that tile is cold, but the truth is that tile is an excellent conductor of heat. When your bare foot steps onto a tile, it’s absorb- ing your body heat, creating that cool sensation.
